Bio of Dr Raja Venkateshwaran, (Chair)

Dr. Raja Venkatesh, a diabetologist by profession, is associated with HUT and other nonprofits since 1998. After graduating from a medical school in Chennai, inspired by his parent’s work, he started his volunteerism with rural health in the villages around Trichy. He has conducted more than 500 health camps. As a member of the international AIDS society, and a trained HIV physician, he has volunteered with Red Cross in Chennai. He has been a trainer for Government teachers in HIV orientation program and coordinated numerous Lions club eye, vaccination and cancer screening camps. He has presented in international conferences, including but not limited to - International conference on north south partnerships, Montreal, Canada; Power paradox in north south partnerships in International AIDS conference, Toronto; and at the annual Water-AID conference, UK at Tamil Nadu.

He headed the HIV program in Perambalur as the chief physician since 2005 untill 2013. Currently he is serving as the Managing Director of the Board.
